Senior Manufacturing Cost Accountant

JOB TITLE:Senior Manufacturing Cost Accountant

DEPARTMENT: Finance

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develops, reviews, and maintains product costing.
  • Assist with auditing physical inventory and cycle count results.
  • Complete monthly inventory reconciliations from GL to subledger.
  • Prepare periodic (Daily/Weekly/Monthly) reports and statistical analysis reflecting financial results & other KPI’s.
  • Conduct profit margin analysis.
  • Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecast.
  • Assist with calculating & auditing labor and overhead rates.
  • Prepare actual vs. plan (budget) analysis.
  • Prepare departmental costing reports.
  • Prepare other financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information.
  • Assist with annual budgeting activities.
  • Prepare recurring & cost related journal entries.
  • Assist with Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with RFQ and other activities across multiple product lines.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Assist with all audits and compliance activities.
  • Ad-hoc duties and analyses as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFIACTIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Three to Five (3-5) years of manufacturing cost accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced Excel skills; VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, sumif/s, pivot tables and charts.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection.
  • Background in a Lean Manufacturing Environment preferred.
  • Microsoft Navision or comparable ERP system preferred.
  • Quoting experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to learn new software.
  • Takes initiative and ownership.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
