Vanadium Master Alloys

Description

Vanadium is a crucial element that enhances the strength of titanium and makes the resulting titanium alloy much stronger, while still retaining its stiffness and thermal properties. This heat-treatable alloy has a high strength-to-weight ratio, is corrosion-resistant, and has favorable welding and fabricating characteristics.

This makes vanadium-bearing titanium alloys particularly suitable for aerospace applications, ranging from rotating jet engine discs to structural components and commercial airframes. Titanium-vanadium alloys are also beneficial in medical, industrial, and consumer applications.

Kymera produces a wide range of vanadium aluminum master alloys aimed mainly for use in titanium applications. Our products are used by titanium producers as the vanadium addition in popular alloys like Ti 6Al-4V, Ti 10V-2Fe-3Al, Ti 15V-3Cr-3Al-3Sn, Ti 6Al-6V-6Sn, and Ti 3Al-2.5V, among many others.

Our vanadium products are fully qualified and approved for use in the most critical applications. The production process is highly controlled in a facility certified to ISO9001 and AS9100 standards and is subject to stringent tungsten control protocols. All products meant for critical applications undergo X-ray inspection and certification to chemistry and size specifications, and our on-site analytical lab is NADCAP-accredited. We can also produce specialty vanadium products upon request.
