Education
Four-year college degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
Skills
- Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to people of various degrees of ability.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Must possess the project management skills to manage and implement small to large projects.
- Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Requires general understanding of the capabilities and practical uses of various types of measuring equipment and basic mechanical instruments.
Experience

Summary
The Quality Engineer’s primary function will be assisting all Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities for the Company’s facility in North Carolina. Responsible for ensuring that the quality systems and procedures are healthy and effective. The QE will interact with all Quality activities, such as internal audits, proper records retention, and documentation management, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective actions, data analysis and trending, and Quality Control guidance and process improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing and informing policies and procedures at the site level to ensure quality improvement efforts will meet or exceed internal and external customer needs and expectations.
- Executes the annual quality plans, strategies, goals and objectives, including fitness for use, vendor rating, statistical process control and quality cost monitoring for the plant and recommends adoption by Company management.
- Facilitate activities to establish plant specific procedures and instructions in support of corporate, customer and industry quality standards.
- Administers and shapes the Document Control System for all Site Procedures.
- Provides input for final quality approval of product prior to shipment, and disposition of nonconforming product.
- Coordinate Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts relating to supplier, production, and customer quality issues.
- Applies Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques such as Failure Mode Effects Analysis, control plans and Measurement System Analysis to evaluate the producibility of new products and stability of production processes.
- Reviews testing equipment and procedures and recommends additions and modifications to enhance the Company’s product and process testing programs.
- Serves as the secondary point of contact for the Quality System.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
