- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Process Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent field of study
- 5+ years of experience working in industrial manufacturing environment
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Computer skills to include AutoCAD Suite (Inventor, AutoCAD, Fusion) and Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Basic technical knowledge of metals and/or powder processing preferred but not required
Summary
The Process Engineer will lead process support and improvement for metal powder manufacturing, providing guidance to shift crews, production, and maintenance. This position works with a cross functional team of engineers including process engineers, project engineers and metallurgists. The Engineer will be primarily concerned with increasing productivity through management of process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, SPC (Statistical Process Control) or Six Sigma methods. They play a key role in improving manufacturing operations, complying with environmental and safety standards, and promoting continuous improvement. This individual will work collaboratively with various teams and utilize their technical expertise to make manufacturing operations more efficient, cost-effective, and competitive, ultimately contributing to the company’s success in the market.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Optimization of equipment to provide desired balance of cost, throughput, and variability.
- Lead product and process improvements to improve cost position and increase product yield.
- Tracking process metrics including OEE, yield and throughput.
- Available on-call for phone or in-person support at facility as needed
- Assists plant management with EHS requirements.
- Overall responsibility for developing safe systems to monitor and control the process.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
- Manage production process control, including tracking, refining, and optimizing.
- Interface directly with operators in a manufacturing environment to lead projects. Manage upward in the organization with the same integrity and enthusiasm as that shown on the shop floor.
- Identifies and implements project work to improve the Company products and manufacturing processes
- Generates new/updated Standard Operating Procedures and similar documents. accountable for process improvement and new product activities which ensure worker safety, compliance with environmental regulations and integrate with the Company quality systems.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis evaluations of production and equipment issues in conjunction with engineering team
- Remains current on new technology options for Company products and manufacturing improvements and regularly shares information with the Operations Manager and others. Generates monthly and other reports to document and communicate all process engineering activities.
- Provides support, advice and counsel to maintenance, production and R&D personnel to maintain equipment and facility operations.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
- Withstand extreme hot, cold, inside, and outside temperatures, and work in a noisy environment with the proper PPE.
