Inventory Control/ Store Room Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides and generates inventory reports as needed.
  • Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
  • Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software as needed.
  • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
  • Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
  • Operates forklift truck when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
  • Assists with Shipping and Warehouse duties when necessary.
Competency:
  • Excellent communication skills with all internal and external contacts.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills.
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Extreme attention to detail.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma with appropriate experience.
  • A degree in business, mathematics, or supply chain is preferred.
  • Experience with computerized inventory systems is required.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and advertising proposals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Products
  • Microsoft Navision preferred
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Forklift operator certification is preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to wear protective equipment as required. Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
